Boulder, Colorado

Boulder, Colorado is located 25 miles northwest of the state capital, Denver. It is located in the northern part of the state and is home to more than 91,000 residents. The city lies in Boulder Valley where the Great Plains meets the Rocky Mountains. Boulder Creek, a favorite spot for rafting and kayaking, runs through the city.

Boulder experiences a moderate climate, with more than 300 sunny days per year; the winters are moderate and the summers are warm. Boulder sees a significant snowfall each year, but combined with the sunshine the snow always melts away quickly and is usually gone by the next day.

The city of Boulder has been highly ranked as the best places to live, work, and retire by magazines such as Men’s JournalMoney Magazine, and USA Today and is an environmentally conscious city.  It is taking efforts towards creating conservation projects and protecting its urban wildlife.

There are many chances to explore the outdoors as Boulder is surrounded by more than 31,000 acres of nature preserves and open space. Trails for biking and hiking can be found everywhere and there are varying levels of difficulty for the beginner or the expert. Boulder is also a great place to find the best places to rock climb.

For those less inclined for sports, Boulder has a love of art and culture. There is a great musical presence in the city, as well as many festivals throughout that year that celebrate art, music, and dancing. There is also a four street walking mall in the city that is perfect for those weekend shopping trips.
