Brevard, North Carolina

Brevard, North Carolina is located in Transylvania County, located on the western tip of the state. The population here is almost 30,000 people, but it still feels like you know everyone in town.

Brevard experiences a moderate climate with the average temperature in winter being around 37 degrees, while the summer averages reach up to about 72 degrees. There is moderate rainfall and no more than six inches of snow a year.

Shopping is a main attraction in this pretty spot. Though there are a few shopping malls in nearby Asheville, most of Brevard’s shopping lends itself to being a unique experience. You can find just what you are looking for right in town—jewelry, music, antiques and more. There are also numerous places where you can enjoy excellent dining since there are a dozen or so locally owned restaurants in the area. 

If you prefer to spend your time outdoors, Brevard is an excellent location for fishing and camping in the Ash Grove Resort or the Black Forest Family Camping. There are also a handful of childrens’ camps in the area, perfect for the grandkids. Brevard is also home to a corn maze, a music center, and the Jim Bob Tinsley Museum.
