Indiana is located in the heart of the Midwest, bordering the states of Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky and Michigan as well as along Lake Michigan.   The state’s population reaches just over six million, but everywhere you go, it still feels like home.   Indiana is made up of many small communities but still delivers a touch modernism and culture with its big cities.

Residents here enjoy the best of both worlds when it comes to weather. The average temperature for winter falls to 18.5 degrees Fahrenheit and the average summer temperature reaches 85.6 degrees Fahrenheit.

The state capital, Indianapolis, is home to many cultural and sporting events. Indiana is home to the world champion Indianapolis Colts, the Indianapolis Indians, and the Indiana Pacers. The White River State Park gives outdoor lovers the chance to experience nature in the middle of the city.

Throughout the state there are many zoos and wildlife parks, including the Indianapolis Zoo and Fort Wayne Zoo. If you are looking for more of an adventure, Indiana is home to a few amusement parks, including Indiana Beach and Holiday World. In the north, by the lake there are the Indiana Dunes to explore. Indiana has numerous campgrounds and state parks to explore, such as Turkey Run State Park. There are also many opportunities in Indiana for hunting and fishing.

If you are more of a sightseer, then Parke County’s 32 famous covered bridges might be for you. Southern Indiana is alive with color in fall when the leaves change.

There are also places hidden in Indiana that provide you with a luxurious experience, such as French Lick. It is home to the French Lick Springs Resort and Casino where they also offer golf and spa treatments.
