Missouri Retirement Communities

Missouri is often overlooked as a retirement state, but several towns, including Columbia and Springfield, are great places to retire thanks to their low taxes and affordable housing.  There are also some terrific retirement communities in the state.

Red Bridge Greens

Red Bridge Greens is a small but pretty, gated, 55+ retirement community in Kansas City an attractive, gated, maintenance-free, patio-home community for those age 55+ in Kansas City, Missouri.  There are only 50 homes spread across 9 acres and are four units to a building.  There are also “aging in place” services for those who want o live here a long time and not move into a different community for assisted living.  This is a peaceful spot, and homes are built on one level, face the street, have an intercom and come with high ceilings  The HOA fees covers snow removal, building upkeep and trash pick up.

Local in-home providers will come to help with everyday chores as needed and companionship services include preparing meals, making appointments, organizing medication and mail.   Red Bridge also has a free “de-cluttering” service, which people figure out what to keep and what to throw away when they sell their home.

More services and businesses, including a pharmacy, a bank, an 18-hole golf course and a public library, are just across the street, and five hospitals are within 5 miles.
