Mountain Home, Arkansas

Mountain Home, Arkansas is just as charming as its name seems. It is located in the northern part of the state in Baxter County and was originally called Rapp’s Barren, home to the Male and Female Academy.  Mountain Home has a population of a little more than 11,000 people. It is a small, quite community that is perfect for retirement.

The town of Mountain Home experiences a moderate climate with average temperatures being around 30 degrees and summer temperatures in the eighties.   It also experience moderate humidity.

If you love the outdoors, Mountain Home is the place for you. Nestled in the majestic Ozarks, there are also has two lakes and three rivers running through the area, so there’s always something to explore.  There is ample opportunity for an array of outdoor activities, including fishing. The nearby Fishing Time Resort combines fishing and other great recreational activities for families, grandkids and retirees.

Churches are plentiful and nearly all denominations are represented.  There is also a Lion’s Club, the Moose Lodge, and a Masonic Lodge as well as a satellite two year campus for the nearby university. Mountain Home is just the right size for anyone who wants to retire in the beauty of the Ozarks.
