Nevada is the seventh largest state with 110,540 square miles, 85% of them federally owned.  It is the largest gold-producing state in the nation and the only state with an entire museum devoted to the life and time of entertainer Liberace.  The gambling and entertainment capital of the United States, it is considered neither Republican nor Democrat and is the only state which does not share information with the Internal Revenue Service.  Nevada is also known as the “Silver State” due to the history of silver mines in the state and is the driest state with an average annual precipitation of 9 inches.  Nevada is the only state in the US where prostitution is not outlawed at the state level, except in the counties around Las Vegas, Reno and Carson City, and it is one of the most sparsely populated states.
