Sarasota, Florida

Sarasota, Florida is located on the central west coast of the state in the northern corner of Sarasota County. Its boundaries include a couple of barrier islands off the coast, famous for their spectacular beaches, and it is home to more than 52,000 people.   The city lies in an area with a humid tropical climate, which gives the area warm, humid weather all year around. The sunny days and warm breezes make it perfect weather for outdoor activities and visits to the beach on any day of the year. Many outdoor activities such as biking, golfing and hiking are popular in the area.

For the history buff, Sarasota has a rich cultural heritage. From historic buildings to the tales of pioneer settlers, Sarasota is a fun and  interesting place to do some exploring.   There are historic neighborhoods throughout Sarasota, even ones that are close to the beach such as Indian Beach Sapphire Shores.

Sarasota is also alive with arts and culture and boasts the Florida West Coast Symphony Orchestra, the Sarasota Ballet and the Sarasota Opera.    The three week Sarasota Music Festival is an annual event, and Sarasota is also the home of the Cincinnati Reds during their spring training season.

For many, Sarasota has the small town feel that they are looking for, but with big city convenience that’s so important in our busy modern world.
