Beaufort, South Carolina

Beaufort, South Carolina is a cozy seaside town that packs a lot of charming southern hospitality.  It is located on the southeastern Carolina coast and is home to just under 13,000 people.

The town of Beaufort experiences a moderate to mild climate; the winters are mild and cool while the summer are warm to hot, but there is always the cool ocean breeze to keep the weather perfect for outdoor fun.  The temperatures range anywhere from the twenties to the nineties throughout the year.

Beaufort is the second oldest town in South Carolina and was originally chartered by British colonists in 1711.  The town has a historic district where you can still catch a horse-drawn carriage to take you back in time.  The historic downtown of Beaufort is only one of three National Historic Landmark Districts in South Carolina.

There are so many things to explore in Beaufort.  For the outdoor enthusiast, there is ample opportunities to fish, both in salt and fresh water.  Golfing is a favorite activity in Beaufort; the town is home to eight golf courses, both public and private, to accommodate any skill level.   There is also a miniature golf course for the grandkids and those who are a kid at heart.  There are also many historic forts, houses, churches, and small town shops to explore throughout this seaside haven.
