San Angelo, Texas

County seat of Tom Green County, San Angelo is a city of over 90,000 in the state of Texas. San Angelo is located at the convergence of the North and South Concho Rivers and is the home to the Fort Concho National Historic Landmark. A festival called “Christmas at Old Fort Concho” is held there annually.

Goodfellow Air Force Base, known for linguistics and firefighter training is located on the outskirts of the city and Mathis Field aka San Angelo Regional Airport serves the city. The temperatures in San Angelo are typical for Texas – hot dry summers reaching in the 90s while the winters get down into the 30’s.

Notable residents of San Angelo include actors Fess Parker and Matthew McConaughey, baseball pitcher Greg Maddux, musician Ernest Tubb, and musical group Los Lonely Boys.

San Angelo features such attractions as the Paseo, the International Water Lily Garden as well as museums and art exhibits.
